Welcome to FORBA!
Welcome to our world. You can see behind the clutch of members posing at the top of the Coppice, our northernmost point is our next door neighbour, the town of Accrington and its distinctive railway viaduct. The Forest of Rossendale is a beautiful place, called the golden valley, from Bacup in the east to Haslingden in the West, and from Stonefold in the north to the Southern most tip, Ramsbottom. In all 53 square miles of beauty, and 20+ miles of recognised horse riding trails. If this is your world too, and you want to join us, you'll be welcome.
The Forest of Rossendale Bridleways Association was started in 1980 by a small group of riders who were concerned about the lack of bridleways in the valley. We are affiliated to the British Horse Society, Access Rossendale and the National Federation of Bridleway Associations.
Next to the picture above of the seven just men (and women) is a map of the Mary Towneley loop (it's much bigger if you click the Mary Towneley Loop Tab on the left of this page).
To the left is a picture of two of us under the Halo Panoptican at Haslingden - four of us featured as "ANGELS" at the opening ceremony. See ride pics Sept 2007.
Over the years the Forest Of Rossendale Bridleway Ass (FORBA) has run a wide range of activities. For details of what we do look in About Us! For a calendar of when we do look in the Ride Calendar.
