Our December ride was from the Fishermans' Retreat at Walmsley.  The hard packed ice had melted in most places so the hardy few were keen to get out.

14 November 2010

Our November ride was from the Punch Bowl in Earby.  Torrential rain over the last week left the ground waterlogged so we had to take it steady over the numerous fields we crossed.  The landlord of the Punch Bowl was very helpful and welcoming and we enjoyed excellent food.

Our October ride was from Waterfoot and took in the Maden Road bridleway and Lee Quarry.  The weather was fantastic and there were some brilliant views from the quarry.

Our September ride was by kind permission of Mr Alan Davies who has recently developed Stoneygate Holiday Centre near Ribchester - an excellent self catering holiday destination (see Hol Dest page).  We enjoyed a pleasant ride around Longridge Fell and Hurst Green before returning for our picnic lunch.  The weather was forecast for showers, but we escaped very lightly with only one brief one.

Our August ride was from Settle.  We rode the Settle Loop clockwise this time, stopping off at Malham for some lunch. The weather was warm and bright with just one brief shower on the way over to Malham.

11 July Blackpool Beach Ride

Amie requested a beach ride, so here we are.  The weather was very bright and windy so close to the dunes our faces got sandblasted.  Only one incident with a dog, thankfully, and although it was swinging off Andy's horses's tail the horse didn't even kick - more's the pity!

The evening was sunny but not too hot and we had a very pleasant ride around Cowpe.  Many thanks for Kev for getting the chip shop order and Neil for waiting on us as the Kimberley. Several members (no names mentioned) elected not to ride but join us for the supper and beer.

Paul predicted rain by 1 pm but fortunately he was out by a couple of hours and we got round in the dry.

Our first evening ride was from the Waggoners Inn.  There were only five of us so we got in plenty of canters and had a lovely tea in the pub afterwards.

Our May ride was from the Hunters Rest on Syke Common.  We had a fantastic ride - heading off up the side of Brown Wardle and coming back round Cowm Reservoir.  Plenty of  cracking canters!

Our April ride was from the New Delight at Colden.  The weather was glorious and for the first time we didn't need warm coats.

Our February ride was on Valentine's Day from the Waggoners at Clowbridge.  The weather was good - cold but sunny. This ride (2 hrs) was just right for some of us unfit ones!
